Lifesaver Technology Services (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides technology consulting, IT support, automation, and software development services to clients in British Columbia and across Canada. By using our services or visiting our website (lifesavertech.ca), you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Scope of Services
We provide professional technology and consulting solutions, including but not limited to:
- IT support and troubleshooting (hardware, software, networking, Wi-Fi, data recovery, system optimization)
- Automation and AI integration
Software, website, and mobile app development - Cybersecurity, data privacy, and best-practice guidance
- Hardware setup, maintenance, and user training
Services may be delivered in person, on-site, or remotely using secure access tools.
2. Client Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- Maintain current backups of all data before and after any service.
- Keep passwords, logins, and account details private and secure.
- Provide accurate information and safe access to any devices, systems, or networks required for service.
- Follow the security and privacy recommendations we provide.
- Ensure proper and lawful use of systems after service completion.
We may decline or suspend service if unsafe, illegal, or unethical conditions exist.
3. Data, Privacy & Security
We respect your privacy and treat all information as confidential.
We access your systems only as authorized and solely for the purpose of delivering agreed services.
While we follow recognized data-security standards and professional ethics (IEEE, ISACA, ACM), no system is completely immune to breaches. We cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted over the internet or stored on third-party systems.
We comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including PIPA (BC) and PIPEDA (Canada). Any personal information collected is used only to provide services, communicate with clients, and maintain secure records.
4. Data Access and Confidentiality
Some services may require temporary access to your systems, passwords, or network accounts.
You authorize us to access such systems solely to complete agreed-upon work.
We will:
- Treat all data and credentials as confidential.
- Use secure, encrypted storage and transmission methods.
- Never disclose or share your credentials with unauthorized parties.
You are encouraged to reset or revoke access once service is complete.
5. Data Backup & Risk Disclaimer
Before any IT or software service, clients are responsible for backing up their data.
Lifesaver Technology Services is not liable for any loss or corruption of data that occurs during or after service, including hardware failure, malware, or client negligence.
6. AI, Automation & Software Development
When we build or configure automation tools, AI systems, or custom software:
- Clients are responsible for reviewing and validating results or decisions.
- We are not responsible for the outcomes or interpretations of AI-generated content.
- Software and automations are provided “as-is” with every reasonable effort made to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Third-party dependencies (APIs, hosting, etc.) are subject to their own service terms and availability.
7. Payments, Deposits & Refunds
All services are billed by project, hourly rate, or subscription as quoted.
- Quotes or estimates are based on agreed scope and may change if the scope changes.
- Payment is due upon receipt unless otherwise specified in writing.
- Deposits are non-refundable once work has started.
- Non-payment may result in service suspension.
- Refunds or rework may be offered at our discretion.
- All amounts are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.
8. Intellectual Property
All code, designs, and materials created by Lifesaver Technology Services remain our property until full payment is received.
After payment, ownership and license rights transfer as specified in your invoice or contract.
Custom projects may include open-source components governed by their respective licenses.
9. Third-Party Tools & Integrations
We may use third-party software, APIs, or hosting providers to deliver our services.
We are not responsible for outages, data loss, or changes caused by those third-party systems, though we always choose reputable providers.
10. Equipment & Environment Safety
Clients must ensure a safe, hazard-free workspace for any on-site service.
We are not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing electrical, network, or hardware issues.
We reserve the right to refuse service if unsafe or unsanitary conditions exist.
11. Confidential Projects & NDAs
For business or enterprise clients, we will sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) upon request.
All proprietary data, source code, or trade secrets shared with us remain confidential and will not be reused or disclosed without written consent.
12. Liability & Limitations
Lifesaver Technology Services is not liable for:
- Data loss, corruption, or hardware failure
- Malware, hacking, or third-party interference
- Human error, accidental deletion, or misuse of systems
- Business losses or downtime resulting from external systems or client actions
- Our total liability will never exceed the total amount paid for the specific service in question.
13. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or inability to perform services due to events beyond our control (e.g., power outages, illness, network failures, natural disasters). Work will resume as soon as reasonably possible.
14. Cancellations & Termination
Either party may cancel services with written notice.
Clients remain responsible for payment for all completed work up to the termination date.
Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.
Any disputes will be handled within BC jurisdiction.
16. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect service or legal changes.
The latest version will always be posted on lifesavertech.ca/terms-of-service with the updated date shown above.
